Consulting

Consulting for marketing, lead generation, sales and the operations behind them.

Clients hire me as a consultant when they want to grow or when they get stuck in their own operations. Sometimes that means opening up a new market, sometimes getting your campaigns and sales in order, and often it means teaching your people what you no longer have the time to explain yourself.

I work in Dutch, French, Portuguese or English. On site in the Kempen, elsewhere in Belgium in full days, and the follow-up online.

In short

  • Business development, marketing, lead generation and sales
  • Operations management and training
  • Per half day, per project or monthly
  • €95 per hour, training from €850 per half day, excl. VAT
  • Four working languages, including for mixed teams
  • More than 20 years of experience, including as a builder
What clients hire me for

It is usually about one of these six.

It usually starts with one of the six and the rest follows naturally. A business that wants more enquiries also needs the sales, operations and people to handle them.

Business development

New customers, new markets and an offer you can actually sell.

  • Who buys from you today, and why
  • Which market you are not reaching yet
  • An offer and a price that hold up
  • Partners and channels that help you sell

Marketing

I work on your marketing or I direct the people who do it. The work stays in-house with you.

  • A plan for the year, with a budget per channel
  • Campaigns set up and followed up month after month
  • Your agency or your marketing person directed
  • One page of figures every month in plain language

Lead generation

A steady flow of enquiries, instead of a busy month followed by a quiet one.

  • Where your enquiries come from today, and where they don't
  • A landing page and form people actually fill in
  • Follow-up that goes out without anyone having to remember
  • The best enquiries first, so your team doesn't waste time

Sales

From first contact to signed quote, with a process that doesn't live in someone's head.

  • Sales conversations your team can hold too
  • Quotes that go out faster and get a yes more often
  • Follow-up recorded, so nothing is left lying around
  • A CRM that gets used instead of just filled in

Operations management

The operations behind the scenes, so things don't get stuck in the same place every week.

  • Who does what, and when
  • Processes your team can run without you
  • Tools that complement each other instead of overlapping
  • Figures you can steer by

Training

Training at your office or on the shop floor, in the language your people speak.

  • Sales and customer contact
  • The tools you pay for but nobody uses properly
  • Teaching procedures to new people
  • In English, French, Dutch or Portuguese
Who it's for

Who this is for

You are growing faster than your operations can keep up

Revenue is rising, but everything still depends on you. Every new customer makes things busier instead of calmer, and you know yourself that can't last.

You sell well, but always to the same people

Your regular customers keep coming back, and that's great. But nothing new has come in for a while, and you're not sure where to start looking.

Your team doesn't quite know how

You've hired people, but nobody has had the time to teach them anything. You still handle the difficult parts yourself.

What you get

What actually happens

No report that ends up in a drawer. You get work you can continue with on Monday, and people who can carry it on themselves afterwards.

  • A first day on site where I watch and listen before I say anything
  • A short analysis of what runs well and where it stalls every time
  • A plan with priorities, a name next to each point and a date
  • Your enquiries and sales tracked in figures, not by gut feeling
  • Support during implementation, for as long as you need it
  • Training for the people who will take it over afterwards
  • Everything on paper, so it keeps working once I'm no longer there
Languages

Selling across language borders is rarely a translation problem.

Dutch, French, Portuguese and English. If you want your brand to break through in Wallonia, France or beyond, the language is the easy part. The hard part is that people there search differently, buy differently and respond to different things. I write and advertise in that language, and I hear straight away when an ad sounds translated.

  • Ads that sound as if they were written in Wallonia, not as if they were translated
  • Keywords researched again for each language area, because people in Liège don't search the way people in Antwerp do
  • A landing page for each market, instead of a site run through a translation engine
  • Your campaigns monitored and adjusted in the language they run in
  • Sales conversations and quotes in the customer's language
  • Training for mixed teams where not everyone speaks the same language
How it works

How an assignment works

01

Observe

Half a day or a full day with you. I talk to you and your people, and I look at the figures before I form an opinion.

02

Choose

Together we decide what needs to happen first. Three things at most, because more never gets finished anyway.

03

Do

I stay involved until it runs. That might be two days or a few months, depending on the assignment.

Questions

What clients usually ask about this.

What does it cost?

Consulting is €95 per hour, excluding VAT. Training is charged per half day: from €850 for a half day and from €1,500 for a full day. For a longer assignment we agree a day rate or a monthly fee, so you know where you stand upfront.

What's the difference with the Marketing service?

With the Marketing service I do the work and run your campaigns. With consulting the work stays in house and I steer your people, or help them get better. Sometimes it starts with one and grows into the other.

Do you come on site?

Yes. For this work I need to be on the floor and talk to your people. In the Kempen I can drop in, elsewhere in Belgium we work in full days. The follow-up works fine online.

Which language do we work in?

English, French, Dutch or Portuguese, and happily a mix. In mixed teams that saves an interpreter and a lot of misunderstandings.

Do you do this alongside the websites?

Yes. I've been building websites for more than twenty years and that continues. It helps, too: I usually spot quickly when the technology is holding the work back instead of moving it forward.

Shall we sit down together?

Thirty minutes, free and without obligation, in person or by video call. Tell me what's working and what isn't, and I'll tell you honestly whether I can do something about it.
