Strategy

Marketing strategy for small businesses

Two weeks of digging, then a twelve-month plan you can carry on with, with or without me. No slides you will never open again.

A fixed price, completed in two weeks. The plan is yours, even if you carry it out yourself.

In short

  • Completed in two weeks, at a fixed price
  • Based on your figures, not on assumptions
  • A plan with priorities, owners and budgets
  • A working session to go through it with your team
Who it's for

When to start with this

You are about to spend money

A new site, advertising, a new hire. Aiming before you shoot often saves more than the strategy costs.

You don't know where customers come from

You have work, but you can't say which channel brings it in. Then you can't decide what to do more or less of either.

You do a bit of everything

Some social media, an ad now and then, a newsletter once. All half done, so no single channel delivers enough.

What you get

What I look into and what you get

The result is a working document of about fifteen pages, not a presentation.

  • Who buys from you today, how often, and what each customer is worth
  • What people in your market search for, with the real volumes
  • What your three closest competitors do, offer and charge
  • Which channels suit your type of customer and which ones you can leave alone
  • A twelve-month plan with priorities, owners and budgets
  • An estimate of what each part costs and could deliver
  • A two-hour working session to go through everything
  • A list of what you do first, in order
How it works

Two weeks, three steps

01

Gather

I collect your figures: sales, website, ads, customer list. Everything that tells us something about who buys and why.

02

Investigate

Search figures, competitors, and conversations with two or three of your customers. That last one usually gives the most.

03

Review together

You get the document in advance and we go through it together. Then you decide what you do yourself and what you outsource.

Questions

What clients usually ask about this.

Do I have to continue with you afterwards?

No. The plan is written so that you or another agency can carry it out. That's exactly the point.

What if I already have a plan?

Bring it along. Then we check whether it matches what the figures say, instead of starting over.

How much of my time does it take?

About three hours: a first conversation, supplying some data and the working session at the end.

Does this work for a sole trader?

Yes, and often especially then, because every wrong euro hits a small business harder.

Aim first, then spend.

Tell me what you are planning and where you are unsure. If your plan is already sound, I will say so too and save you the cost of a strategy.
